Video Transcript

In this video, we'll have a look at how Servicely, using its AI capabilities, can help us make compliance reporting more efficient for CMDB and asset activities. In this particular case, we're looking at a list of laptops. We can see we have a particular laptop here which is currently unassigned and sits in a stock room. We'll go ahead and assign that asset to Andy, who is in the service lead engineering team. We'll quickly assign the laptop, so it is now assigned to Andy. Andy will spend a period of time working on that particular device, after which we will return it back into stock, perhaps because Andy is transitioning to a new role or leaving the company.

Now we have a loan request. Ava needs a laptop, maybe because some coffee went into the keyboard of the original one. We'll put the asset on loan to Ava. You can see the current state is updated here on the workflow. As soon as Ava gets the laptop back from repair, we'll return the laptop back into stock. Since we haven't completed the full lifecycle of the asset, we will now give it to someone in HR who needs a less powerful laptop. After a few years of use, we'll quickly assign that laptop to Ben. At some point, the laptop will come back, perhaps because it's running out of its current cycle. We'll come back and return the laptop to the stock room. Essentially, we can put it back into stock, save, and update the record.

What happens next is we will have an auditor come in and ask for a compliance report for a specific set of assets. This can be an individual device, a system, or anything that we have in our asset and CMDB register. At the bottom, we've got a compliance summary field. You probably noticed that we have a compliance summary button down here at the bottom. By clicking that button, we'll pass all of the relevant information from the asset to AI, where we will get an updated, structured summary for compliance reporting. This includes what type of asset we're talking about, its asset tag, the company, the stock room, the departments, who created the asset, where it currently sits, and what's the serial number. We can have a lifecycle list of people it's been assigned to. At the bottom, we can see the workflow we just went through, and the entire asset history is updated here. Again, all of this is driven by Servicely’s AI capabilities.
